I grew up in Great Barr, Birmingham and went to Barr Beacon School. My aspirations as a young boy were to either become a footballer or a Solicitor. Both careers paths were evident within my family, with cousins who are professional footballers and mom, auntie and cousins having worked or working within the legal sector which is perhaps where my passion derives from.
In the end I’ve pursued both paths, having played semi professional football and having qualified as a football coach, whilst also becoming a commercial solicitor.
As a person, some of my traits include being supportive, reliable, patient and hard working. In relation to my route into the legal work, as a graduate from university in the recession, training contracts were few and far between. I began my career as a paralegal and moved to Bristol. Whilst working as a paralegal in Bristol, I studied at Nottingham Law School where I completed my Legal Practice Course (LPC). As anyone who has worked and studied at the same time knows, it is imperative that you have excellent time management, organisational skills and a certain type of work ethic is required.
After completing my LPC, I secured my training contract within a niche Commercial Property firm and completed my contentious seat at a high street firm within their Corporate and Insolvency team. I had the opportunity to stay at the high street firm upon qualification. I dealt with a variety of matters spanning from terms and conditions, high profile betting cases (sports law context), bringing and defending claims for office holders including a variety of antecedent transactions against parties.
Prior to joining Pickford’s, I have gained invaluable practical experience acting for a broad range of customers including directors, private individuals and insolvency practitioners, as well as working in house within the energy sector dealing with their commercial contracts and ensuring that they remained compliant with OFGEM.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my fiancée and children. I am an UEFA qualified football coach and I currently coach the ages 9-11 at a Midlands professional football academy.
As someone who values others and the development of others, I am a keen and active volunteer in the local community and regularly take part in several projects with a variety of different charities to help mentor and make a positive difference to young people.

I look forward to having a long, and successful career at Pickford Solicitors.
