“I am revelling in the tremendous opportunity that Pickford’s have given me to complete my training contract with them. The work is interesting and varied, and I’m enjoying learning more about corporate law. The team are supportive and have helped see me through the initial difficult stages in my training so far. I look forward to completing my training and qualifying as a solicitor at Pickford’s.” Natalie Fitzhugh – Trainee Solicitor
Throughout the year we play host to school students, by offering them work placements. They can learn basic office tasks, (where appropriate) participate in customer meetings in and out of the office and take advantage of the expertise within the business, to ask those important questions. Whether this be about university applications, career paths or an area of law they are interested in.
“Sinead and the team at Pickford Solicitors have been extremely helpful in supporting students at Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School. This has been in a variety of forms, through week-long work placements to weekly internships and has been very valuable in terms of helping those students interested in law careers to gain experience of a working office.
They have also sponsored a forthcoming fundraising event which will allow the school to generate a larger profit. This money is very valuable to the school and will be utilised to improve the quality and quality of educational provision for our students”. Brian Davies – Development Director and Deputy Director of Sport
We want to make a real difference to the lives of people and communities where our customers and colleagues live and work. By supporting our local Sutton Coldfield Ladies and Under 16s girls’ football teams financially, the teams can grow. This gives the players, the club and the community brilliant opportunities to develop.
““Pickford Solicitors are true partners in every sense of the word. From day one they have shown a practical interest in supporting girls and ladies’ football at the club by attending games, functions and our end of season awards evening. They make a massive difference to us and this helps expand and develop female football in the area and makes it flourish”. Andy Burman 1st team Manager Sutton Coldfield Town Ladies FC
As a modern legal business, we understand the need to be innovative and be technology friendly.
We use a case management system and cloud-based systems to reduce our need to print paper. As a business it is difficult to be completely paperless, but we are proactive in only printing what we need to print. Our paper is then taken to be securely recycled.
Right from the launch of our business, we believed in giving something back. We are very fortunate to have the support of our colleagues, who help come up with fun and brilliant ideas to fundraise.
We have partnered up with the brilliant Emmaus charity which work with the homeless. Since beginning our support, we do “dress down” Friday’s to raise monies, we have abseiled from one of the tallest buildings in Birmingham and have put together Christmas stockings with festive treats for the charities Coventry based companions.
We are also supporting The Buddy Bag Foundation, a charity making a difference to children in emergency care. The charity provides children entering emergency accommodation with Buddy Bags to restore a sense of safety and security in their lives. Our support of this charity is very new, so we are thinking of lots of ways in which we help.
