Jas Singh
Director – Corporate and Commercial Law
I have over twenty years experience as a corporate lawyer. I worked at one of the largest firms in the country and acted for blue chips companies (including FTSE 100 companies and household names).
In recent years I have focussed on owner managed businesses where I can apply not only my legal skills but my commercial project management experience. Customers find me approachable, highly responsive and value my tactical input as well as my legal advice.
In my spare time, when I am not at “my bootcamp” gym I follow American football and the Birmingham Bears in T20 Cricket.

Barry Guest
Director – Commercial Property
I enjoy providing practical solutions to legal problems and with almost four decades of commercial property experience working in Walsall and across the West Midlands there are few commercial property issues that I have not come across before. I’ve also found myself around a board room table as a non-executive director, so my customers can increasingly take advantage of my commercial, as well as legal, input.
In my spare time when I’m not running, cycling or walking (or following Aston Villa) I like staring through a telescope at the night sky (calling it astronomy would be exaggerating!).

Nisha Bharadwa
Associate Director – Commercial Property
Since qualifying, I have spent a decade working with a wide range of small and medium sized businesses dealing with their commercial property transactions, so I have come across most scenarios at least once.
I enjoy finding pragmatic solutions to commercial property issues and am focussed on achieving deadlines.
Having completed a major house renovation project my spare time is now fully devoted to my two children.

Lucie Couchman
Associate Director – Residential Conveyancing
Although still relatively young (my view) I’m now well into my second decade as a conveyancing solicitor. I’ve worked down in the South during a period when the market there was particularly buoyant and have recently returned to the Midlands in time for what looks to be an interesting period of growth and investment for the local property market.
I deal with all aspects of residential property transactions including aspects of residential development. I aim to take as much of the stress out of the moving process as possible. As head of department at Pickford Solicitors I will be combining the best in technology with a personal service, with a view to growing the team by demonstrating our ability to get completions done and making sure customers come back to us time and again.
Outside of work (practising what I preach) I am renovating my own recently purchased house, whilst at the same time trying to stop my cockapoo puppy destroying my hard work.

Sinead Teague
Business Development Manager
My background includes a law degree and time at a West Midlands based law firm but my focus is now on business development, including sales and marketing, recruitment, office management, HR, and regulatory compliance.
I am involved in local charities and networking organisations. I bring an optimistic `can do` outlook to my roles at Pickfords.
Having recently moved house and planning my wedding, life at home is just as eventful as at work.

Naresh Gill
Commercial Property Solicitor – Commercial and Residential Conveyancing
Whilst completing my law degree I spent time in a management role in the retail industry. I am finding that this experience is serving me well in terms of project management in a legal context.
My role is to keep customers informed of progress and ensure that transactions are completed on time.
To relax I enjoy the gym and spend (a little too much) time playing computer games.

Natalie Fitzhugh
Trainee Solicitor – Residential Conveyancing
Whilst completing my legal qualifications part-time, I have gained extensive experience working in the private sector.
I have worked in a range of sectors, including five years as a health and safety officer for a FTSE 100 company, who specialized in the supply of temporary energy generation and temperature control; and, subsequently, six years working within the hotel industry at senior management level covering diverse areas including: estates management; refurbishment project management; compliance; health and safety and human resources. I have also been involved with a number of high value sales and purchases of hotels and am used to the intricacies of these transactions from a client perspective.
I strive to offer the highest standards in customer care and whilst I am in the early stages of my legal career, my past experience and qualifications focussing particular on business management, furnishes me with unique insight working within the legal sector (as might my current experience with nappy changing and sleepless nights).

Cecilia Wong
Trainee Solicitor – Corporate and Commercial Law
I have always wanted to pursue a legal career ever since I was a little girl. I am a resilient person with a strong desire to learn. During my studies, I have had to juggle many part-time works. These experiences have equipped me with the ability to deal with a wide range of customers. Having recently completed my LLB and LPC, I am ready to embark on a new adventure in my career.
Besides work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy being in the kitchen and experimenting with new recipes.
I am fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Rachel MacDonald
Transaction Manager – Residential Conveyancing
I have been working in Residential Conveyancing since 2006. I have worked at a number of Law firms, based all over the West Midlands from small high street firms to large city firms.
I started my Legal studies whilst still working from 2006 to 2011. I deal with a variety of Conveyancing matters. I thrive from a challenge and give 100% commitment to my work to ensure the best outcome for my customers.
I took a career break whilst on maternity leave to look after my little boy, who keeps me very busy and on my toes.
I enjoy caravan holidays with my family and my two dogs. My interests include motocross riding and attending races. My little boy is also a big fan of the sport, so most weekends are filed with him learning to ride. When I am not doing all the above, I attend the Gym and eat lots of chocolate!
